Online Thyroid Care in Utah
Thyroid care for Utah adults, with a full panel, a licensed provider who reads it with you, and follow-up labs that keep your dose on track.
What it is
Hypothyroidism means the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone. It is diagnosed with blood tests, starting with TSH and usually free T4, and common symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold, dry skin and constipation. Standard treatment is thyroid hormone replacement, most often levothyroxine, with the dose adjusted by follow-up labs.
Fortem Health offers thyroid care to adults located in Utah. Your provider reviews your panel and symptoms on a live video visit and decides whether treatment is appropriate. If medication is prescribed, a licensed pharmacy ships it to you, and your care team schedules the follow-up labs that keep your dose right.
Who it may be appropriate for
- Adults with symptoms and thyroid labs that point to an underactive thyroid
- People already diagnosed with hypothyroidism who want consistent monitoring
- Adults 18 or older who are located in Utah
Who it is not for
- Anyone with a thyroid nodule, goiter, an overactive thyroid or suspected thyroid cancer, who needs in-person or specialist care
- Anyone who is pregnant or planning pregnancy, who should be managed with their obstetric provider

What your provider may consider
Fortem does not sell or dispense medication. If your provider decides thyroid hormone replacement is right for you, they choose the medication and dose, and a licensed pharmacy fills and bills it directly.
Read this before you begin
- Thyroid hormone is not a weight-loss treatment and should not be used for that purpose.
- Too high a dose can cause a racing or irregular heartbeat, anxiety, trouble sleeping and, over time, bone loss.
- Tell your provider if you have heart disease, are over 60, or are pregnant or planning pregnancy.
- Calcium, iron and some other medicines interfere with absorption. Your provider will explain how and when to take your dose.
- Labs are usually rechecked about 6 to 8 weeks after starting or changing a dose.
This is not a complete list of side effects, warnings, or interactions. Your provider will review your full history before prescribing and will provide complete medication information with any prescription. If you experience a medical emergency, call 911.

Frequently asked
Can thyroid care be managed by telehealth in Utah?
For many adults with an underactive thyroid, yes. Diagnosis and dose adjustments are based on blood tests and symptoms, which a licensed provider can review by video. Nodules, an overactive thyroid and pregnancy need in-person or specialist care.

Guidelines advise against thyroid hormone for people whose thyroid tests are normal. Your provider makes the decision based on your labs, symptoms and history.
